Distinctive Features


Colonies effuse, pale greyish black, velvety. Mycelium mostly superficial, composed of branched, septate, pale brown, smooth walled , 3.5-5.5 ?m thick hyphae. Conidiophores macronematous, mononematous, unbranched, septate, slightly thick walled, 20-50 ?m
long, 4-7 ?m thick, arising from the thick walled aggregated cells of the superficial mycelium. Conidiogenous cells monoblastic, integrated, terminal, determinate and cylindrical. Conidia solitary dry, acrogenous, simple, muriform, helicoid, shaped as
closely pressed horse-shoe, brown, smooth walled or consticted at septa, 18-26 ?m dia, 6-12 ?m thick, secondary conidia nonseptate, light brown, 3-6 ?m diameter.
